Book Sales Support Library Improvements
Each year, the RCC Friends of the Library host a sale of used books. This event raises hundreds of dollars for library improvements:
- Quality reference works, such as the distinguished New Grove Dictionary of Music and
Musicians, that are beyond the reach of the library budget
- Posters, furnishings, and bookmarks to brighten the library and promote information literacy
Memorials Supplement the Library's Book Collection
College and community members may honor family and friends with a contribution to the RCC Friends of the Library memorial Fund. Each gift is earmarked for books on a subject the donor designates.
Gift Program Promotes Literacy
In support of literacy, the RCC Friends of the Library buy books each Christmas for children in the community.

A voice in library acquisitions
Most of the funds raised by RCC Friends of the Library are used to purchase books and other library materials that would not otherwise be available in the college library. Each year the library staff suggests needed items, and the Friends choose which projects to support.
